Industry Professionals
If your industry is highly dependent on the future of energy you will find the topics presented at Energypath 2012 valuable. Energypath 2012 offers an opportunity to expand your Networking, Career Development and Business Development by providing a forum for industry professionals, policy makers and educators to discuss America's Sustainable Energy Future. The Sustainable Energy Fund is excited to announce speakers such as John Jimisson, director of the Future Energy Coalition, and David Lewis, the futurist who is largely responsible for the transportation transition in California.
6-8th Science Fair
Students will be expected to do a research project that involves some form of sustainable energy component. For example- “Does the shape of the blades on a wind turbine impact the amount energy received” , Students are not limited on model size and are allowed to use electricity to present. The only stipulation is that the project must not exceed a $100.00. Prizes 1st Place- $ 1500.00 2nd Place- $350.00 3rd Place- $150.00
Elementary Students Arts Fair
The student that draws the best picture, on a A4 size (8.5" x 11") sheet of paper, of “What the energy of the future is” will receive a $200 prize. Pictures are to be submitted no later than May 31st and the top 100 will be displayed at the Energypath Conference, June 25th- 29th. Pictures should include some form of sustainable energy such as a wind turbine, solar panel or micro hydro. Emphasis will be on creativity! Submit pictures to: Scott Lindsay 1005 Brookside Road Suite 210 Allentown, Pa 18106; 610-264-4440 ext.7017.
High School Design Competition
Energypath 2012 will be offering High School students the opportunity to win a $5,000 grand prize. Students that enjoy coming up with engineering designs and putting those designs into practice will love the Sustainable Energy Design Competition! The 2012 design challenge is to build a sustainable energy system, such as a wind turbine, solar thermal water heating system, or a microhydro system etc. All projects will be accepted that involve some form of sustainable energy component. The Sustainable Energy Fund is organizing the competition for all schools in the region.
College Students
College Students can submit research, have it published and entered in a competition receive a $5000 grant. This year the Sustainable Energy Fund will be sponsoring a $5000 grant for the most thought-provoking research and presentation. In order to receive the grant applicants must attend the Energypath conference and present their research between June 25th – 29th, 2012. We are seeking to identify areas of research not currently addressed by the sustainable energy field and are soliciting short presentations (5-10minutes) or posters on the topic of America's Energy Future. The following research may include economic strategies to increase sustainable energy technologies, public policies that may drive sustainable energy, or new sustainable energy technologies.
