6-8th Science Fair
Students will be expected to do a research project that involves a form of sustainable energy. For example- “Does the shape of the blades on a wind turbine impact the amount energy received”  . Students are not limited on model size and are allowed to use electricity to present. The only stipulation is that the project must not exceed $100.00.

Prizes
1st Place- $ 1500.00 
2nd  Place- $350.00
3rd Place- $150.00


Elementary Students Arts Fair
The student that draw's the best picture, on a A4 (8.5" x 11") size sheet of paper, of “What the energy of the future is” will receive a $200 prize. Pictures are to be submitted no later than May 31st and the top 100 will be displayed at the Energypath Conference, June 25th- 29th. Those in the top 100 will also receive a prize. Two separate awards will be granted to K-2 grade and 3-5 graders. Pictures should include some form of sustainable energy such as a wind turbine, solar panel or microhydro. HS Design Competition
Energypath 2012 will be offering High School students the opportunity to win a $5,000 grand prize. Students that enjoy coming up with engineering designs and putting those designs into practice will love the Sustainable Energy Design Competition! The 2012 design challenge is to build a sustainable energy system, such as a wind turbine, solar thermal water heating system, or a microhydro system etc. All projects will be accepted that involve some form of sustainable energy component.  The Sustainable Energy Fund is organizing the competition for all schools in the region.
