Grant

This year the Sustainable Energy Fund will be sponsoring a $5000 grant for the most thought-provoking research and presentation. In order to receive the grant applicants must attend the energypath conference and present their research between June 25th – 29th, 2012.

We are seeking to identify areas of research not currently addressed by the sustainable energy field and are soliciting short presentations (5-10minutes) or posters on areas of Energy of the Future. The following research may include economic strategies to increase sustainable energy technologies, public policies that may drive sustainable energy, or new sustainable energy technologies.

The judging will be done by a panel of industry professionals and academics. The criteria that the judges will be using will be focused on:

1. Creativity - Is the research thought provoking and looking at a topic from a new or different perspective or is the research a new technological design that is innovative to the field.

2. Applicability - Is the research applicable to present or future societies or is it a plausible concept

3. Content - Does the research have a clear thesis, well written and devoid of grammatical errors

4. Impact - Does the research benefit society, is it solving a problem, how is it solving a problem and does an opportunity exist for the research to be implemented

5- Evolutionary versus Revolutionary - Does the research offer a new wave of critically thinking or is it an adaptation of an already existing idea

6- Presentation - Can the author present the information clearly

*The criteria is placed in order of importance*
