Over the last six years the week long Energypath conference and pre-conference energy camps have grown from one person attending a solar training workshop in Colorado to more than 400 annual attendees. Originally known as Solar Scholars™ and the Sustainable Energy Conference the program focused on providing training for professors on solar photovoltaic installation.
In 2009 the conference opened to the public, added an exposition and began providing scholarships to dislocated workers, middle school and high school teachers in addition to the scholarships that are provided to colleges and universities. To date Sustainable Energy Fund has provided more than one million dollars in scholarships and equipment grants to edcuational institutions.
Since origination the Energypath has hosted more than 100 leading industry and policy experts such as Vera Cole, PhD author of the PA Solar Handbook, Mick Sagrillo author of Power From the Wind, Dr. Andrew Cole, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, Public Utility Chairman James Cawley, Federal Energy Regulatory Commissioner Nora Mead Brownell, Congressman Joe Sestak, Secretary of Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection John Hangar and many more.
