Regenerative Energy Initiative: A New Chapter for Energypath

SCHNECKSVILLE, PA., April 22, 2026 — The organization behind Energypath, formerly known as Sustainable Energy Fund (SEF), has officially evolved into the Regenerative Energy Initiative, marking a new chapter that expands its mission and vision for the future of energy.

For decades, Sustainable Energy Fund has supported energy users across Pennsylvania by helping overcome financial, educational and regulatory barriers. As the energy landscape continues to evolve, the organization is broadening its focus beyond efficiency and net zero—toward a regenerative approach that actively renews, revitalizes and regenerates environmental, economic and social systems.

Energypath remains a core part of that mission.

As one of the premier energy conferences in the Mid-Atlantic region, Energypath has long served as a platform for education, collaboration and innovation. Under the Regenerative Energy Initiative, the conference will continue to connect students, professionals, and leaders—while expanding conversations around how energy can do more than sustain and instead create lasting, positive impact.

“For years, the goal was net zero. Regenerative energy goes further,” said John Costlow, President and CEO of the Regenerative Energy Initiative. “It’s about creating energy systems that actively renew, revitalize, and regenerate environmental, economic, and social systems—not just reduce harm.”

For attendees, partners and ambassadors, there are no changes to participation, programming or opportunities. The same trusted team, conference experience and commitment to accessibility and education remain in place.

What’s changing is the vision.

Through the Regenerative Energy Initiative, Energypath will continue to:

  • Connect emerging and established energy leaders
  • Expand access to energy education and career pathways
  • Foster collaboration across sectors
  • Explore solutions that move beyond sustainability toward regeneration

This evolution reflects a growing recognition that energy systems can—and should—play a role in strengthening communities and supporting long-term resilience.

Energypath 2026 will continue to build on this foundation, bringing together voices from across the industry to explore what a regenerative energy future can look like in practice.
